Campbellsville University will host its annual Big Maroon Golf Classic April 16 at Campbellsville Country Club. To register online, visit http://bit.ly/i5uxqi.
The Big Maroon Club is an organization that supports Campbellsville University Athletics through providing funds for scholarships and team resources.
This year’s format will be a four-person scramble. This format comprises of one round of golf with a foursome competing for the lowest score. After everyone hits a tee shot, the “Captain’s Choice” of the next shot puts all members hitting from the same spot.
Four team prizes will be given based on gross scores: team with lowest score, team with score 1/3 down from lowest, team with score 2/3 down from lowest and the team with the score next to last. For example, if 24 teams play, teams 1, 8, 16 and 23 would win prizes.
Individual entry costs $100 and each individual will receive green fee and cart rental, a Campbellsville University logo cap, golf balls, tees, a $50 tax deduction and Big Maroon Club membership for the 2011-2012 year. Mulligans are available at $5 each with a maximum of two.
Course prizes include closest to pin, straight drive and hole in one. The winner of the hole in one will receive $10,000 cash and new Buick.
The registration deadline is April 8.
On the day of the scramble, registration begins at 8 a.m. The shotgun start begins at 8:30 a.m. After teams are finished playing, lunch will be provided and awards will be presented.
