LaRue County sophomore Kristina Durbin took 12th Saturday in the 68-runner Class 2-A, Region 2 cross country championship. She earned her third trip to next week’s State championship meet.
Durbin ran the course in 21:40.07.
The Lady Hawks took eighth in the Region.
Competing also for the Lady Hawks were sophomore sophomores Kaelyn Herrin (43rd, 24:17.98), Amanda Brewer (48th, 24:36.28) and Amanda Adyani (50th, 24:50.56), freshman Brigid Walters (57th, 26:16.65) and senior Alisha Durbin (62nd, 26:47.51).
Although it was the Lady Hawks’ worst team finish in the last eight years, Adyani, Walters and the Durbin sisters all ran season bests.
Kristina Durbin went to State in 2011 as an individual and in 2010 with the Lady Hawks, who were third in the region that year.
