Complicity

Brandon Christopher Branham (1992) pleaded guilty to complicity, receiving stolen property over $300; and complicity, theft by unlawful taking over $300, Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. He was sentenced to five years, suspended, and credited for 28 days served. He was fined $410. Final sentencing held.

James Alex Clifford (1988) pleaded guilty to several counts Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court: complicity, first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (heroin); complicity, possession of controlled substance (heroin); complicity, possession of controlled substance (other); complicity, drug paraphernalia; and complicity, possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to five years total and credited with 246 days served.  He was fined $185. Probation was denied. Final sentencing held.

James Alex Clifford (1988) pleaded guilty to a count of first-degree perjury Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. He was sentenced to two years to run consecutively to his other case. Probation was denied. He was fined $385. Final sentencing conducted.

 

Failed to appear

Betty J. Cox (1963) failed to appear Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. A bench warrant was issued and she was declared a fugitive. Bond is to be applied to financial conditions. Cox was sentenced to a seven-year probated sentence in 2007 and fined $380.

 

Guilty pleas

Michael Allen Flynn Jr. (1976) pleaded guilty to trafficking in marijuana; cultivation of marijuana; use or possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession of marijuana Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. Recommended sentence is five years, five years, 12 months and 45 days, respectively, to run concurrently for a total of five years. Commonwealth’s Attorney opposed probation; defendant waived pre-sentencing investigation. Probation denied; final sentencing held.

 

Declared a fugitive

Terry Ray Logsdon (1983) failed to appear Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. He was declared a fugitive. He has been charged with possession of marijuana and first-degree possession of controlled substance.

 

Guilty plea

Catherine L. Lyons (1986) pleaded guilty Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court to a count of failure to report change in order to receive benefits. Recommended sentence is five years to be pre-trial diverted. Final sentencing is Dec. 17.

 

Sentenced to three years, suspended

Bathea O. Piggee (1973) was sentenced on numerous counts Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. He was sentenced to three years, suspended, on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment; three years on fleeing or evading police; 30 days on operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and 30 days on driving on DUI suspended license, resisting arrest, speeding 12 mph over limit and two counts of disregarding stop sign. All time to run concurrently for three years, suspended. He was fined $465 and ordered to pay $75 each month. Final sentencing conducted; order of probation signed. A hearing was set for April 15.

She was sentenced to five years total and credited with 246 days served. She was fined $210. Probation was denied. Final sentencing held.

A charge of flagrant non-support against Regina C. Glickman (1980) was dismissed with prejudice Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. The charge may not be reinstated.

Jessica Smith (1986) stipulated to probation violations Nov. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. Judgment of sentence of five years and probation order signed. She was charged with numerous drug counts in 2010.
