A Hodgenville couple has pleaded not guilty to charges that they mistreated several dogs in their care.
Anthony D. Waldeck, 49, and Amy Brown, 33, were charged with second-degree cruelty to animals after Chief Deputy Russell McCoy found seven dogs Dec. 15 with no food, water or shelter at their home on Howardstown Road.
According to the citation, four dogs were found tied to a tree with no other shelter. McCoy noted in the citation that the owners said the animals had been tied to the tree for “over a year.”
