Unemployment rates decreased in 49 Kentucky counties between April 2012 and April 2013, while 63 county rates rose and eight stayed the same, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
LaRue County’s rate was 7.3 percent, down from 8.2 percent the previous month and down from 7.5 percent a year ago. Of a 6,934-person labor force, 6,431 people were employed.
