It is time for the annual fall recycling event.

The event will be for one day only, from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 16, at the LaRue County Maintenance Garage across from the high school. All city and county residents may participate.

Items accepted include any metal items, appliances, fencing, vehicles, motor vehicle and equipment batteries, computer equipment, toner/laser cartridges and fax machines.

Tires will be accepted for a nominal fee. Passenger tires $1.50; semi tires $6 and $1 per inch on oversized tires.

There should be no excessive waiting or long lines as plenty of help will be available and things will be arranged in an effective manner for easy drop off, according to Solid Waste Coordinator Jill Gray.

Things not being accepted are household trash, furniture, construction debris, chemical containers, paint or hazardous materials.

The event is sponsored by LaRue County Fiscal Court, LaRue County Solid Waste and the City of Hodgenville. For more information, contact Jill Gray, solid waste coordinator, at 270-358-9903.
