A pair of siblings found a copperhead snake last week on Bluegrass Drive near Save-A-Lot.
Jeremy Curtsinger, 22, said he picked up his sister Toni, 11, from school one afternoon. As she walked to the house, she spotted the 18-inch snake on the sidewalk.
“She walked right up to it and asked if it was real,” Jeremy said.
The snake was aggressive, he said.
A neighbor identified the venomous snake and killed it.
“It started snapping at us,” Jeremy said. “He was ready to get us.”
