 Friends of the Library to meet

Friends of the LaRue County Public library will meet 5 p.m. May 3 at the library.

 

ECTC Choristers Spring Concert

Waste tire amnesty

Tire amnesty is May 2-4. For more information, call Jill Gray at 358-9903. The event is sponsored by Kentucky Division of Waste Management and LaRue Fiscal Court.

 

Ancestral Trails Historical Society

The Ancestral Trails Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. May 3 at the Hardin County Public Library in Elizabethtown. Steve Rafferty will present the genealogy program on “Family Resources.” For more information, call 270 862-3209.

 

Karaoke and dancing

There will be karaoke and dancing 7-11 p.m. May 3 at the old square dance building, 1524 Hodgenville Road, Elizabethtown. All ages welcome. Door prizes and 50/50 drawing. No alcohol. Admission is $3 to go toward building’s rental fee. For information, call Steve and Linda Vincent at 735-5077.

 

Rolling Thunder to meet

Rolling Thunder, Inc., Kentucky Chapter Four, will meet 2 p.m. May 5 in the Colvin Community Center, 230 Freedoms Way, Radcliff. Meetings are open to the public and dues are $30 per year. The major function of Rolling Thunder Inc. is to publicize the POW/MIA issue and assist homeless and disabled veterans of all wars and other veterans’ issues. A blood drive will be 3-7 p.m. May 14 at First Baptist Church, 709 Main St., Sonora.

Relay for Life begins May 17 at HES

Wellness on Wheels

Hardin Memorial Hospital’s Wellness on Wheels mobile health unit will be available 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. May 20 at Hometown IGA in Hodgenville. No charge for blood pressure, blood glucose, body mass index, Dermaview skin analysis, body fat analysis and weight. Hemaglobin (Anemia) level is $5. Cholesterol panel is $20. Fair change

The LaRue County Fair Board has set the 2013 LaRue County Fair for June 14-22. A horse show will be June 14; dairy cattle show on June 15; and the carnival arrives June 17.
