 Chamber luncheon

The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be at noon, March 19, at the Lincoln Museum Community Room. Lunch will be catered by Hinton’s Orchard. Republicans meet

The LaRue County Republicans will meet at 7 p.m. March 24 at the LaRue County Courthouse. Note this is a new time and place. For more information, call Lanny Vincent at 270-325-3834.


Free screening: Civil War: The Untold Story

A free screening of Civil War: The Untold Story, episode 5 of a five-part series, will be shown 7 p.m. March 25 at the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown. Panel discussion to follow movie, which is sponsored by Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park and Eastern National.


Country Spring Clean-Up

County spring clean-up is noon to 4 p.m. March 28, and 8 a.m. to noon, March 29 at the county maintenance facility across from LaRue County High School. Items accepted include appliances, electronics, batteries, bulky and large items, any kind of metal including fencing (fence posts removed) and tires, with or without rims. Tire disposal is free for farmers, otherwise the cost is $1.50 for passenger and light trucks. Oversized tires are $1 per inch. How to be a foster parent

Rolling Thunder Inc. to meet

Rolling Thunder Inc., Kentucky Chapter Four, will meet 2 p.m. April 6 in the Colvin Community Center, 230 Freedoms Way, Radcliff. Membership is open to everyone. Meetings are open to the public and dues are $30 per year. Visit www.rollingthunderkych4.com for more information.


Circuit court postponed

LaRue Circuit Court will not be in session on April 7 due to spring break. There will be a Division 1 rule day on April 4; any cases scheduled for April 7 will be continued to April 21.


Park volunteer training

Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park will have orientation training for those who wish to volunteer at the park’s visitor information desk noon to 4 p.m. April 10. Class is limited to eight participants. Call the park at 270-358-3137 to make a reservation or more information.


Renaissance Repeats

Renaissance Recycling will have many reusable, recycled items for sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 12 and every second Saturday of the month, in the Renaissance Repeats shop located in the Hodgenville Woman’s Club basement, 16 Lincoln Square. Wellness on Wheels

Hardin Memorial Hospital’s Wellness on Wheels mobile health unit will be available 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. April 21 at Hometown IGA. There is no charge for blood pressure, blood glucose, body fat analysis, body mass index and weight. Cholesterol panel is $20. Anemia screening is $5; colorectal take-home kit is $5.
