Extension office closes for holidays
The LaRue County Extension office will close Dec. 25 to Jan.1 and Jan. 20 for the holidays.
The LaRue County Public Library will host Bingo 6 p.m. Dec. 26.
Rolling Thunder to meet
Rolling Thunder, Inc., Kentucky Chapter Four, will meet 2 p.m. Jan. 5 in the Colvin Community Center, 230 Freedoms Way, Radcliff. Meetings are open to the public and dues are $30 per year. Many members are veterans and ride motorcycles, but you don’t need to be a veteran or ride a bike to join. Soup and panini recipes
A soup and panini recipe ideas class will be 10:30 a.m. Jan. 6 at the LaRue County Extension office, 807 Old Elizabethtown Road. Get new ideas for making healthy family meals during cold weather months. Class is sponsored by County Homemakers but is open to everyone. If we have bad weather, class will be canceled. Extension Council Leadership and Awards banquet
The LaRue County Extension Council Leadership and Awards banquet is 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27. Meal is $6. Crosstown Homemakers will cater. Contact the Extension office at 270-358-3401 for reservations. Nominations for an individual or group for the leadership or community service award must be turned in by Jan. 7.
National Lung Cancer screening guidelines forum
The Kentucky Cancer Program is sponsoring a community forum Jan. 8 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, 913 N. Dixie Ave., Elizabethtown, to discuss new lung cancer screening guidelines. Open Sew Day at Extension office
Open Sew Day is 10 a.m. Jan. 13 at the LaRue County Extension office. Master clothing volunteer Rosa Smith will demonstrate how to make an infinity scarf or shrug. Bring one yard of fabric for scarf or 2.75 yards of fleece or knit for the shrug.
LaRue County Chamber of Commerce luncheon
The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce luncheon is noon Jan. 15 at the Lincoln Museum Community Room. Al Rider, president and CEO of Central Kentucky Community Foundation will speak. Call 270-358-3411 for reservation.
