Library hosts gift wrap party

The LaRue County Public Library will have a gift wrap party 4-6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. If you need a secret place to wrap presents, the library will have wrapping paper, tape and bows or you can bring your own. Punch and cookies will be served. The book club will meet 6 p.m. Dec. 19; Bingo will be held 6 p.m. Dec. 26.

 

ECTC Choristers to perform

The Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Choristers, directed by Dr. Camille Hill, will present a free holiday concert 7 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Morrison Gallery of the College. Guests will be the Classical Christian Choir of Central Kentucky, and the Music and Arts Center of Cultural Learning Youth Orchestra.

 

Ruminations ‘Round the Woodstove: Discussion of the Bill Moyers’ interview with Wendell Berry

Plowshares Farm Center for Education and Spirituality, 12704 Campbellsville Road, Buffalo, will host Dr. Leah Bayens, chair of the Earth Studies Department and coordinator of the Berry Farming Program at Saint Catherine College, 2-5:30 p.m. Dec. 15. Potluck meal precedes watching the interview of Wendell Berry by Bill Moyers. Bring a dish. Registration is limited. Call 270-735-5265.

Free Seminar: Smart Start – Business Basics


The UK Small Business Development Center will host a free pre-business orientation seminar “Smart Start – Business Basics” 5-7 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Hardin County Public Library, 100 Jim Owen Dr., Elizabethtown. Training will include the how-to’s of starting, feasibility and legal structure to licensing and permitting requirements. Chamber luncheon

The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce will hold its December luncheon meeting at noon Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the Lincoln Museum Community Room on the square. State Representative Terry Mills will be the guest speaker. Bobby Morrison’s Santa Claus Helpers will be the non-profit sponsor. Cost is $8 each. FREE MOVIE NIGHT: 12 Dogs of Christmas

Free Movie Night is 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at Hodgenville Civic Center. The 2005 movie is “12 Dogs of Christmas.” No charge for admission, drink and popcorn.
