Volunteers needed for Hosparus
Hosparus of Central Kentucky is looking for volunteers to make lap quilts (about 3’X4’) for patients as part of the CARE blanket program. New Hope Fire Department open house
New Hope Fire Department will hold an open house noon-6 p.m. July 13 at 90 Holy Cross Road, New Haven. Music, hot dogs, hamburgers, fire department tours and child safety along with special guests including air method helicopter and air evac helicopter will be featured.
Volunteer training at Park
Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is holding free volunteer orientation training days for those wishing to volunteer at the park’s visitor center information desk. Training is noon-4 p.m. July 15 and Aug. 29. First-come, first-served basis; limited to eight volunteers. For more information, call the park at 358-3137.

Adult Summer Reading Program
The LaRue County Public Library is hosting an Adult Summer Reading Program with weekly drawings for gifts. Stop by the library to complete a ticket for books that have been read. Mobile mammogram unit
The mobile mammogram unit from James Graham Brown Cancer Center will be at the LaRue County Extension office 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 3. Call 358-3401 for an appointment. Cost is $79 for those without insurance.
Rolling Thunder to meet
