Courthouse holiday schedule
The LaRue County Courthouse will be closed Dec. 25, 26 and 27; Jan. 1, 2 and 3. The courthouse will be open Dec. 31.
Extension office closed
The LaRue County Extension Office will be closed Dec. 25-Jan. 2 and Jan. 19.
Prime Time Band
Prime Time band will perform at the Hodgenville Senior Center 7 p.m. Dec. 26. Free admission and snacks. For more information, call Jim Walters at 737-5655.
Cemetery Commission to meet
The Red Hill Cemetery Commission will hold a public hearing 7 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Hodgenville Civic Center.
The LaRue County Public Library offers Circle Time at 11 a.m. Tuesdays for 12-36 month olds and Fantastic Friends at 11 a.m. Wednesdays for ages 3-5. Saturday Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments for grades 6-12 will resume in January. A game day is being organized for January. Community Coordinated Child Care
Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C) will have a “How to start a family child care home” workshop 4-5:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at the 4-C office, 54 First St., Elizabethtown for persons interested in starting a certified child care home. Pre-register by calling Alice Brewer at 270-360-9911.
Smoking cessation course
“Kick the Habit” smoking cessation class will start 5:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at Flaget Health Connection, 111 N. Third St., Bardstown. The entrance is in the rear of the building. This free 13-week course is based on the Cooper Clayton Method. Suzanne Gude of the Kentucky Cancer Program will facilitate the course. Participants will purchase their own nicotine replacement products. To register, call 502-348-7010.
Zumba classes begin
Zumba classes will be held 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 7-Feb. 10, at the LaRue County Board of Education all purpose room on College Street. Registration is $30. For more information, call Vicki Devers at 358-2011 or 358-4111.
Monitoring blood sugar
A free class to learn the importance of monitoring your blood sugar will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at the LaRue County Extension Service office. Receive a free glucose meter. For more information call Melissa Conder at 769-1601, Ext. 1035, to register.
The Lincoln Trail District Health Department will hold a nutrition class at 9 a.m. Jan. 19 with a follow up class at 11 a.m., in the LaRue Community Room. Information on healthy eating, control blood sugar and improve your lifestyle. Registration required by calling Melissa Conder at 769-1601, Ext. 1035.
Blood sugar screenings
Free blood sugar screenings will be offered by a registered nurse at the Flaget Health Connection, 111 N. Third St. in Bardstown, 8:30-9:30 a.m. Jan. 20. No registration required.
The LaRue County Extension Office will host “Sew Day” 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 26 for anyone to work on sewing or craft projects.
