Community Action Transportation Service resumes

-A A +A

The Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Inc. and Lincoln Trail Area Development District have come to a resolution on a senior transportation contract to resume transportation. This affects Breckinridge, Grayson, LaRue, Marion, Nelson and Washington Counties.

Central Kentucky Community Action Transportation Service resumed transportation to the Senior Centers for seniors on Oct. 1 within an eight-mile radius of the Centers. Transportation will also be available for seniors on designated days to grocery stores.

All trips must be scheduled in advance and the routes cannot be changed by drivers.

To schedule a ride, call CKCATS at 1-800-242-8225.

Seniors who live outside of the eight-mile radius of the Senior Centers are eligible to participate in a voucher program. Seniors who are unable to drive may recruit a volunteer to drive them to the Senior Center, and grocery store.  The volunteer, who must produce proof of driver’s license and current vehicle insurance, will be reimbursed for mileage for this service. Seniors may ask for more details by calling LaRue County Senior Center at 270-358-4235.
