COLUMN: Storms left a mark on our community

 Whenever TV crews cover a tornado, they inevitably interview someone who “heard a freight train.” Sometimes they find a person who will make a noise like a freight train.

While interviewing residents around South Lincoln Boulevard and KC Estates who experienced the terror of a funnel cloud firsthand, I learned that the sound could vary.

One lady, indeed heard a freight train, although I did not ask her to make the noise.
