The dormant earth has sprung to life with the warm sunshine. Blossoms have poked through the dried grass. Buds have formed a lovely kaleidoscope of color in the woods and lawns. Birds loudly chirp and busily build nests for their young. The earth loudly and vibrantly praises God as it comes back to life now that winter has passed.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:2-26.
If you have claimed this promise, you are a Christian and have eternal life. But are you living your time on this earth to the fullest?
Is your life dull and unproductive? Just as the earth goes from drabness to beauty, so can our lives. The dormancy, the dreariness, and the deadness of our lives can be restored, renewed, and reborn through Christ.
Throughout the Bible, we are given the blueprint of how to renew ourselves with a more healthy, vibrant life. Primarily, it is through repentance of our sins that we can restore our relationship with him. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19)
Do you long for a time of refreshing? Turn your life, your sins, your worries, your plans over to the Lord and allow Him to renew you. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (Psalm 51:10, 12)
Along with the earth, it’s time for us to spring back to life.
