Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)
Today let us go down to Bethlehem, and join with the shepherds and the wise men, let’s see him who was born king of the Jews, for by faith we can claim an interest in him.
We can sing, “To us a child is born, to us a son is given,” Jesus, our Lord and our God, and yet our brother and friend. Oh, come let us adore him and admire him – the seed of woman, not the offspring of the man. Our Savior, although truly human, was as to his human nature the Holy One of God.
The angel Gabriel said to a virgin girl named Mary: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you, therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”
For with God nothing will be impossible (Luke 1:37). God chose this mystery, which is beyond human understanding, to bring his son into the world (Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:34, 35).
Mary accepted God’s word that by his power alone the holy child would be planted inside her body, receiving him in faith and giving witness to his presence.
Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass.
“Joy To The World, The Lord Has Come!”
