COLUMN: 'The Hunger Games' worth a read and a watch

 My husband Bud and I don’t watch a lot of movies. At least not new ones.

But I had heard about one that had promise – one that featured a lead actress and actor from Kentucky and was set in Appalachia.

The name “The Hunger Games” was not so promising and I had to convince Bud it wasn’t a spin-off of “The Biggest Loser.”

Both of us were glad we went.
