COLUMN: 'Green' your holiday decorations

 Amid the bright colors of the holidays, why not add a little green in your everyday planning.

Decorating:Use natural items from your yard or local agri-businesses to decorate. Then compost the natural decorations once the season is over.

Cooking:Pour any fats, oils, and greases from cooking in a sealed container, such as a coffee can. Once the container is full throw it into the trash. Never pour fats, oils, and greases down the drain. They can clog pipes and cause septic system failure.
