“America wants God’s blessings, but not God. Our nation has systematically pushed him out of the national consciousness by rejecting Biblical morality, ignoring his word and relying on the political and entertainment areas for moral guidance.”
These are the words of John MacArthur and they express the beliefs of many Christian leaders today.
We are a bankrupt nation - financially, morally and spiritually. Politicians, economists and sociologists seek a cure for our nation’s situation, while God has provided a prescription for our ills in his word found in II Chronicles 7:14.
God says, “If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.”
Financially, our nation has had its long term AAA credit rating downgraded for the first time in American history. Our national debt continues to increase an average of $3.9 billion per day since Sept. 28, 2007.
Morally, America is drowning in wickedness and immorality. Have you tried lately to find a decent TV program you can watch with your family like The Andy Griffith Show?
“Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
Spiritually, we are bankrupt as a nation. America is slowly, gradually rejecting God. First they ruled against prayer in schools. Then Bible reading was outlawed.
America is no longer guided by Christian principles. Secular humanism has become America’s god. True Christianity is ridiculed. But if you want to propagate strange gods America will open her arms.
God’s reorganizing plan in II Chronicles 7:14 needs to be heard and heeded. God said in Jeremiah 18:8, “… that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned.”
America’s hope is in following God’s word.
