Amber Thurman could act very silly.
She’d wear funny hats to school – lead parades through the hallways – let students cover her in paint. Once, she dressed like a chicken.
Her antics – always in great fun – were a reward and encouragement for the children at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School to succeed.
She was serious in wanting the best from her students – and for her students. Their scores proved that she was serious, indeed.
