Hodgenville City Council held second reading of an ordinance Monday that will increase the cost of water and sewer service.
The first reading was held Nov. 23 at a special meeting.
Sewer rates will increase by 10 percent and the minimum water rate will increase by 7.5 percent in 2012. Annual increases through 2015 will go into effect with publication of the ordinance.
Combined minimum water and sewer rates will be $8.94 higher by 2015 than current rates.
Mayor Terry Cruse said the rates have not been increased since 2004.
