Former LaRue County High School Lady Hawk Christian Cox competed in the East vs. West All-Star game June 12-14 at the University of Kentucky.

Cox, who played for the West Seniors, played three games that weekend – two seven-inning games on Saturday and one nine-inning game on Sunday.

Lady Hawk coach Mielle DiStefano coached the West Junior All Stars.

DiStefano said her team defeated the West Seniors, with pitchers combining for a one-hitter.

“Ironically, Christian Cox got the only hit,” she said. “It was a good win, because that team was loaded with Division 1 talent.”

Cox, the daughter of Mike and Joy Cox, has signed to play with Murray State University.

DiStefano said each athlete in the All-Star game plays the same amount of innings.

“Everyone gets to bat,” said DiStefano. “All 19 hit before the first batter hits again, so there’s a lot of plotting.…”
