A child was injured in a two-vehicle crash last week at the intersection of Ky. 84 and Oak Hill Road.

According to LaRue County Deputy Doug Sherrard, a 2010 Dodge Caravan, driven by Louise Pottinger, 68, of Sonora, was traveling west on Ky. 84 about 3:19 p.m. Jan. 22.

Pottinger attempted to make a left turn onto Oak Hill Road and failed to see an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Jamika Ownes, 25, of Sonora.

Pottinger’s vehicle struck the Tahoe in the driver side door, causing Ownes to lose control of the vehicle. The Tahoe came to a stop about 200-feet from the impact.

Kiley Botkin, 2, a passenger in Ownes’ vehicle, was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by LaRue County EMS.

The drivers were uninjured. Two passengers in the Caravan, which is owned by Central Kentucky Community Action, were uninjured.
