A 3-year-old child was bitten by a pit bull-type dog Friday afternoon.
According to LaRue County Dog Warden Will Thompson, the dog, a family pet, was chained on the owner’s property. The child went into the yard and approached the dog.
The dog’s owner said the child had a skin break on his arm. The child was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Thompson said the dog was current on rabies shots.
The LaRue County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene.
