Kudos to our LaRue County High School Cheerleaders for going where no local squad has gone before: The National High School Cheerleading Championship. They earned the right to attend the competition and raised funds for the trip to Florida where they challenged top squads from across the nation. They took 13th. But more importantly, they’re proving that hard work, attitude and an ability to look great while doing some amazing gymnastic stunts can pay off big dividends.
While there continues to be argument about whether cheerleading is a sport – you’ll find no argument here. These girls are athletes and competitive cheerleading is a sport.
And many thanks to proud dad David Dawson for providing excellent photos of the cheerleaders in competition.
