The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce has a newly renovated website.
Information including visiting LaRue County, living in LaRue County, local education and recreation are included in a more “user friendly” manner according to Jessica Davis, executive director of the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce.
The improvements began back in the summer to revamp the site that was last updated in 2005 and is more useful because it can be “updated more frequently.”
The previous website did not allow information other than the calendar to be altered without the assistance of a web administrator. The revamp allows nearly everything to be updated as needed to insure accuracy and “include more information,” said Davis.
“We’re most excited about being able to get more content on the web and connect with our viewers,” said Davis. “It’s for so many people … tourists, the Chamber and the community.”
Some benefits to Chamber members and sponsors have also been included in the upgrade, such as being added to a member directory that includes business information and a logo.
Businesses are categorized into their specialties but can also be in multiple categories if needed.
For those interested in joining the Chamber, a click of a button will outline the membership investment schedule and benefits provided to members.
Chamber news and announcements are located on the home page for easy access and a list of upcoming events can be found adjacent to the articles.
A link to the Chambers Facebook and Twitter pages are also a welcomed addition to the site. Davis hopes that the links will allow more people communication and information about Chamber events.
“We hope these improvements help people to see what is going on in our community,” said Davis.
The new site went live Monday.
A link to the site is available on The LaRue County Herald News’ website www.laruecountyherald.com.
