By The Staff

The faculty and staff at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School named two employees to the Lincoln Presidential Cabinet. Larry Nunn, head custodian, and Karlotta Cecil, fifth-grade teacher, are the recipients for December.

Nunn, better known as “Mr. Larry,” has been custodian since 1997 and is a native of LaRue County. He is described as the school’s “lifesaver” because of his commitment to the job and the quality of his work. “Mr. Larry” can be counted on to be on the job by 5 a.m. and stays until his work is done no matter what the hour. His goal is to keep the new facility in tiptop shape.

Cecil, also a LaRue County native, began her education career as an instructional assistant at Magnolia Elementary and then moved on to St. Thomas in Nelson County. She returned to LaRue County in 2004 and has been teaching fifth grade for the last two years.

The Lincoln Presidential Cabinet honorees for the month receive a restaurant gift card, movie passes, a massage, a fudge sampler, office supplies and recognition in The LaRue County Herald News.
