Both houses of Kentucky’s General Assembly have passed without a single dissenting vote legislation that will replace the current state assessment, CATS (Commonwealth Accountability Testing System), during the next three years.
Senate Bill 1, sponsored by Dan Kelly of Springfield, does away with CATS and mandates the Department of Education create a replacement assessment by the 2011-12 school year.
