Benefit supports Bethlehem High in Bardstown

By The Staff

Lights, Camera, Auction! — the premier tuition assistance fundraiser for Bethlehem High School in Bardstown — is Saturday. Each year the auction has a theme and the school’s gymnasium is decorated to fit. This year is Pirates of the Caribbean.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with an open bar. Auction items will be displayed. Dinner, catered by Ladyfingers of Louisville, begins at 7:30 p.m. Some tickets still are available for $60 and can be purchased by calling (502) 348-4685.

A live and silent auction are planned. Kevin Harned, a WAVE-TV meteorologist and Bethlehem graduate, will emcee the event, as he has for nine years.

The 16 items to be auctioned include an African photo safari for two, golf for four at Valhalla golf course, a condo stay in Keystone, Colo., a condo stay in Gulf Shores, Ala., University of Kentucky and University of Louisville tickets. There are 170 silent auction items donated by families and local businesses. There is also a drawing for $10,000 of which only 300 tickets are sold for $100 each at the school’s office.

The event is “dressy,” organizer Cathy Clements said.
