Brown scores 34 points in opening game of tournament

 LaRue County’s Lady Hawks defeated Campbell County 63-53 Wednesday in the first round of the Republic Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic.

Junior guard Ivy Brown scored a game-high 34 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

LaRue County trailed 32-27 at the half, but outscored Campbell County 36-21 in the second half.
