In two weeks, the Hawks and Lady Hawks begin their basketball seasons.
Fans will have a chance to see the players and help with fundraising Saturday, Nov. 19 during the annual Blue & White Night.
A chili supper kicks off the event 4:30-6 p.m. in the LaRue County High School cafeteria. The meal includes chili, sandwich, dessert and drink for $5.
Blue/White activities begin at 6 p.m. in the gym.
All players on all teams – varsity, JV, freshman and middle school – and cheerleaders will be introduced.
The Hawks and Lady Hawks varsity teams will have an intrasquad scrimmage. Other activities include “Fans in the Stands” competitions and 3-point contest. The first 150 fans will be given a ticket from the booster club for a chance to win several door prizes during the evening.
There is no charge to attend Blue & White Night activities.
“We just want to kickoff the season by spotlighting our student-athletes to our community,” said Paul Childress, head boys basketball coach. “The kids have been working hard getting ready for the season and we want to try and generate some excitement about the upcoming basketball season. It's that time of year for Kentucky basketball. We want to encourage everyone in the community to come out Saturday night, get a bowl of chili, and come support our hard working student-athletes.”
The Hawks will tip-off their season at home Dec. 3 against the Australian National Team in the Corky Cox Classic. They play at home again at 8 p.m. Dec. 6 against Breckinridge County.
The Lady Hawks begin their season at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Meade County. Their first home game is at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9 against Hart County.
