BETA Club takes on district competition

 The BETA Club chapter at LaRue County High School attended the spring Third District BETA convention on March 15.

Nineteen LaRue County students attended and competed in many different academic tests – quiz bowl, talent and arts and crafts competitions. LaRue County had an outstanding showing, being the first year that they have participated in this convention. 

Winners included Isaiah Turner, who won the mathematics competition; Cody McDowell, who placed second in history; and Kayla Skaggs who placed third in crafts with her handmade holiday card. Rex Hanson is the sponsor of the senior chapter of BETA club at LCHS.

Twenty-four area schools compose the district. The convention was held at Hillvue Heights Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
