Brittany Benningfield will have the lead role in W.A. Mozart’s comic opera “The Marriage of Figaro,” which will be presented March 1-3 by the UK Opera Theatre at the Lexington Opera House.
The daughter of Ron and Sheryl Benningfield of Hodgenville, Benningfield plays the Countess in the opera composed in 1786 which recounts a single "day of madness" in the palace of the Count Almaviva near Seville, Spain.
A graduate of Campbellsville University and a 2003 graduate of LaRue County High School, Benningfield teaches music and voice as she pursues a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at UK.
A soprano, she has performed in several operas and musical concerts, including Puccini’s “Turandot” and Verdi’s “Falstaff”
