Santa’s Helpers prepare for Santa Run
Snookie Morrison and Santa’s Helpers are collecting new and gently used toys and batteries for the 46th annual Santa Run on Dec. 24. Donations are accepted at Santa’s Workshop, 760 Salem Lake Road, Hodgenville, or one of the volunteers will pick up the items.
Donation boxes are available at LaRue County Chamber of Commerce, Dollar General Store, Lincoln National Bank (Parkway and Main offices) and both offices of Buffalo Bank. For more information or to volunteer, call Ann “Snookie” Morrison at 234-3313.
LCCA Toys for Tots
LaRue County Community Action will have “Toys for Tots” boxes available around the community until Nov. 30. Toys for Tots accepts donations of unopened toys for ages 12-and-under; gifts for teens also needed. Community Action is located at 120 Greensburg St., Hodgenville and is open 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, contact Jessica Arroyo at 358-3937.
Community Action: Toys, coats and food
LaRue County Community Action and Cash Express are collecting toys, coats and food for the underprivileged. Items can be dropped off at Cash Express, 711 S. Lincoln Blvd.; Smoketown II, 926 S. Lincoln Blvd.; Smith’s Hardware, 1018 Lincoln Farm Road; Hometown Pizza, 105 Lincoln Dr.; and Anna B’s, 108 S. Walters Ave., all in Hodgenville.
Kelly Dean Sanders Memorial Fund luncheon
Tickets for the annual Kelly Dean Sanders Memorial Fund luncheon are on sale at the LaRue County Board of Education. The luncheon is noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 at the LaRue County Middle School cafeteria. A luncheon and musical entertainment are available for $10.
This worthy cause has helped hundreds of needy families purchase school clothes for their children for the last 40 years. A limited number of tickets will be for sale at the door but advanced ticket sales allow more efficient meal planning. Call Sarah Hornback at 358-4111 for more information.
