The LaRue County Hawks had a good second quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a slow start in their 65-55 Homecoming loss to the Elizabethtown Panthers Friday.
E-town jumped out to an early 13-2 lead. LaRue’s Kelton Ford, a sophomore guard, scored nine points to tighten the gap to 19-11 at the end of the first quarter.
The Hawks outscored their opponents 20-10 in the second quarter, taking a 30-28 lead as they headed to the locker room.
