At the request of the Bullitt County Detention Center the Kentucky State Police was asked to investigate an alleged promoting contraband violation. The jail staff recovered a syringe that had allegedly been smuggled into the jail by way of an inmate's attorney.
While interviews were being conducted, the suspect, Michael S. Wade, 31, of Louisville, arrived at the jail to meet with his client.
According to KSP, Wade was searched and items of contraband were located. As a result, Wade was charged with first-degree, first offense, possession of controlled substance, heroin; first-degree promoting contraband; and second-degree promoting contraband.
He was lodged in the Bullitt County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
KSP was assisted by the Bullitt County Drug Task Force and Bullitt County Detention Center staff.
