A Greensburg man, accused of entering a White City home and throwing an iron skillet at the homeowner, was indicted on one count of second-degree burglary Feb. 21 by a LaRue County grand jury.
According to LaRue County Deputy Russell McCoy, Hobart Darren Cruse, 41, of Hodgenville Road, “came at” the homeowner with a knife before throwing the heavy skillet. After a brief confrontation with the homeowner, Cruse fled, according to McCoy.
Officers said Cruse had loaded several household items into a tote but was interrupted before he could remove them from the premises. Items included a handgun, cash, medication containing pseudoephedrine, diecast cars and two piggybanks belonging to the homeowner’s children. The alleged incident occurred Nov. 18, 2010.
Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, on conditions of dusk-to-dawn curfew and no communication with the alleged victim.
Cruse was arraigned March 7 in LaRue Circuit Court.
The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and the person is considered innocent until and unless proven guilty.
