Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park re-opened this morning as workers returned from a 16-day furlough.
Employees cleared leaves and other debris from walkways to ensure safety before the park opened to visitors at about 11 a.m.
Lincoln's Boyhood Home at Knob Creek also opened this morning, Superintendent Bill Justice said.
The parks closed Oct. 1 as a “nonessential” service, along with all other national parks.
