ABDULLAH WHITE IN CUSTODY

-A A +A

Captured in Louisville

A Radcliff resident wanted in connection with a LaRue County homicide last weekend was found Wednesday night at a Louisville motel on Preston Highway, according to Kentucky State Police.

Abdullah R. White, 35, reportedly was seen fleeing the murder scene in the victim's vehicle that was later found in Taylor County.

Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force developed information leading to the arrest of White.

White was tracked to the Louisville area by developing a list of known associates, tips from the public and checking hotels believed to be used by White.

When confronted by the Fugitive Task Force, White attempted to break out a window and escape. His attempt was unsuccessful and he then surrendered to police without incident. Kentucky State Police were assisted by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, Louisville Metro Police, Elizabethtown Police Department and the Radcliff Police Department.

White has been lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center. Bond has not been set.

Charges could be sought for those responsible for helping White elude capture, police said. The investigation is continuing and new charges could be added when the case is presented to a grand jury.

Kristie L. Allen, 28, was found dead Dec. 30 in a friend's residence in Buffalo. Police describe her death as an apparent homicide and have said they believe she knew her attacker. Her funeral was Tuesday.

The cause of death has not been released pending completion of a final autopsy report.

White has a history of violent crime, according to public records. He pleaded guilty in 1996 to complicity to commit murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary, complicity to commit theft more than $300 and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

Police have made two other arrests related to the case.

* Belinda R. Martin, 26, of Elizabethtown was charged Saturday with receiving stolen property after she allegedly received property taken from the Buffalo residence. She was released on bond Sunday from the Hardin County Detention Center.

* Samantha Kolley, 19, of Elizabethtown was arrested Sunday and charged with theft by unlawful taking more than $500 related to the stolen vehicle. She is lodged at the LaRue County Detention Center in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond.
