Gardner and Mullins named outstanding members

Numerous 4-H members and volunteers were recognized at the annual 4-H Awards Banquet.

The Outstanding 4-H Members for 2010 were named. The Junior Division includes 4-H members who are 9-13; the Senior Division includes members who are 14-18.

Based on points earned for 4-H activities completed during the 2009-10 4-H year, Katie Gardner was the 2010 Outstanding Senior 4-H Member. 

Based on the same point system, Sierra Mullins was recognized as the 2010 Outstanding Junior Division 4-H Member. Past Outstanding 4-H Members, Michaela Rock and Stefan Cowley earned the most points for the fourth year in a row. By doing so, each earned the Gold Level of the Outstanding 4-H Member Award. Mullins also received the Most Improved 4-H Member Award. She increased her points the most from last year to this year.

4-H Point Awards were presented to all 4-H members who completed the Awards Recognition Form. Prizes such as T-shirts and other 4-H items were presented for the different point categories.

Less than 200 points: Rachael Fantasia, Austin Skaggs, Ashlen Grubbs, Alyssa White and Joseph Taul.

200-349 points: Anna Ronkainen, Zach Gardner, Zachary Duvall, Holden Madriaga, Delaina White, Darian White and Katie Gardner.

350-499 points: John Ronkainen, Millie Ronkainen, Benjamin Lope, Carey Coffey, Hallie Madriaga and Sara Duvall.

500-749 points: Sarah Lope and Stefan Cowley.

750-999 points: Sierra Mullins

1,500-plus points: Michaela Rock.

Cloverbud Participants were: David Halcomb, Brayden McCandless, Tara Warren, Rachel Lope, Dylan Taul and Madison Wilmoth.

The 4-H Record Book Awards were also presented at the Banquet.

Junior Cooking: Sarah Lope - County Reserve Champion/Blue, Michaela Rock – County Champion/Blue & District Champion/Blue.

Junior Entomology: Leslie Pike - County Champion/Blue & District Champion/Blue. Junior Gardening: Leslie Pike - County Champion/Blue & District Champion/Blue.

Junior Horse: Carey Coffey - County Champion/Blue & District Red, Ashlen Grubbs - County Reserve Champion/Blue.

Senior Horse: Katie Gardner-County Champion/Blue.

Junior Photography: Michaela Rock-County Champion/Blue & District Champion/Blue.

Junior Poultry: Darian White-County Champion/Blue & District Champion/Red, Delaina White-County Reserve Champion/Blue, Sara Duvall-Blue, Zachary Duvall-Blue, Alyssa White-Blue.

Junior Rabbit: Alyssa White - Blue, Sierra Mullins - Blue, Michaela Rock-County Champion/Blue & District Champion/Blue.

Cloverbuds Madison Wilmoth and Tara Warren received blue ribbons for completing Gardening record books.

New 4-H Points Record Forms are now available at the Extension Office. 4-H members should record their activities from Sept. 1, 2010 through Aug. 31, 2011.  Each fall, the completed record forms are due to the Extension Office by the end of September.

The 4-H Record Forms along with an essay are used to determine the recipient of the annual Stanley Hager 4-H Scholarship which is presented to a graduating high school senior each year.
