The LaRue County 4-H Council will meet 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Extension Office. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone wishing to serve on the council should contact 4-H Agent Misty Wilmoth at 358-3401 or email@example.com. The council oversees the county-wide 4-H program as far as planning, evaluating and funding.
Piggy bank deadline
Piggy banks are due to be turned in to the Extension Office by 4:30 p.m. Dec. 2 for the piggy bank design contest. Youth are encouraged to design and make their own original piggy bank. Banks do not have to be in the shape of a pig. Judging will take place and the top three winners will receive cash prizes, donated by Fort Knox Federal Credit Union. First place earns $25. Second place earns $15 and third place earns $10.
The annual 4-H Awards Banquet is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Extension Office. The meal is potluck with meat and drinks being provided by the 4-H Council. Make reservations by calling the Extension Office at 358-3401 with the number attending. During the banquet, all record book participants will be recognized, as well as all members who completed their 4-H Awards Point System Record Sheets. 4-H volunteers will also be recognized.
4-H Club meetings are held at the LaRue County Extension Office, 807 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville. New members are welcome to attend. For more information about 4-H, call Misty Wilmoth at 358-3401.
