Patrick Andrew Bender, 18, was charged with two counts of unlawful transaction, illegal controlled substance, after allegedly smoking marijuana with a 15-year-old female and a 17-year-old male April 12. He was charged also with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence after allegedly attempting to dispose of the marijuana at a traffic stop in Buffalo.

LaRue County Deputy Marcus Jackson wrote in the citation that a baggie of marijuana and rolling papers were taken into evidence.

A Hodgenville teen was arrested and detained under $50,000 cash bond last week after being charged with unlawful transaction with a minor.

LaRue District Judge C. Derek Reed amended the bond to $5,000 cash or $10,000 property – on condition of no contact with alleged victims – at Bender’s arraignment April 14.

As Bender attends high school with the two alleged victims, Reed advised him to “become a ghost” when he returned to classes.

“If you see them coming from the east, you go west,” he said.
